Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Unified Data Dissemination Application (UDDA)?
UDDA brings Colorado air-quality information into one place: an interactive map of regulated facilities and monitoring sites, current air-quality and pollen conditions, EnviroScreen environmental-justice indicators, regulatory documents, and an AI assistant that can answer questions and drive the map for you.
Where does the data come from?
Facility and monitoring data come from CDPHE's ArcGIS services and EPA systems (ECHO compliance, AQS monitoring, CAMPD power-plant CEMS, TRI toxic releases). Current air quality and pollen come from Google's Air Quality and Pollen APIs. Regulatory documents are retrieved from the CDPHE OnBase public records portal. The map shows the source and freshness of each layer.
How do I find air quality near me?
Use the "My Location" button on the map toolbar, or ask the AI assistant something like "pollution sources near me." The assistant can locate you, find nearby facilities and monitoring sites, and number them on the map.
What are the colored diamonds and circles on the map?
Diamonds are emission sources (facilities), colored by permit class: red = Title V (major), orange = synthetic minor, yellow = minor, green = oil & gas, and purple = power plants with EPA CEMS data. Circles are air-monitoring sites, colored by their current AQI category.
